What is Yin Yoga?
It’s a practise of self-awareness; noticing what arises and allowing it to pass. Yin Yoga creates connection between the mind, body and soul; allowing us to gain clarity and create a deeper, more nourishing relationship with our body. ✨ Yin Yoga uses long held floor based postures (3-5 minutes) to target and temporarily stress the deep connective yin tissues in the body. We hold postures for 3-5 minutes to stimulate connective tissues which includes: bones, joints, ligaments and fascia. ✨ Yin Yoga was specifically designed to exercise the ligaments and help build back strength and space in the joints. Yielding is a vital part of the Yin practise, it is essential that throughout the practise that you move to an appropriate edge, find stillness and hold it for time. Applying small amounts of stress to connective tissues or meridian tissue stimulates healing response in the body, nourishes inner tissues, get chi moving to organs and tissues.
